The Lower Secondary Proficiency Examination (LSPE), which has replaced the Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination, is structured to provide certification that students or adults have achieved mastery of foundational concepts in Mathematics, English Language, English Comprehension and Composition, and General Paper (Science, Social Studies, and Current Affairs) at the lower Secondary level.

How are LSPE results graded?

What happens if I pass some but not all subjects?

If you pass at least two subjects in the first sitting, you have up to two years to retake the failed subjects to earn a certificate.

Can I retake the entire exam?

Yes, if you didn’t pass at least two subjects or want to improve your grades, you can retake the full exam.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes, you will receive an LSPE certificate if you earn a passing grade in all four subjects.
